Built on thirty years
of watching Cornwall’s
independents fight for it.
Grow Cornwall AI was founded by someone who didn’t come from tech. She came from a toy shop in Camelford, a gallery on Falmouth’s High Street, and a decade of building real product businesses in Cornwall.
AI training, strategy and
done-for-you marketing —
built for the people who built Cornwall.
Grow Cornwall AI exists to close a gap that has been widening for years. The gap between what large businesses can afford — agency teams, marketing departments, expensive consultants — and what an independent Cornish business actually has access to.
AI has changed that equation. The tools exist to level it. What has been missing is someone to translate them — honestly, affordably, without the jargon or the eye-watering price tag — for the businesses that need them most.
That’s what we do. From a £9 prompt pack you can use tonight, to a full done-for-you marketing service through Tre Marketeers. Training, strategy, and delivery — at whatever level makes sense for where you are right now.
AI is changing everything — and most small businesses are watching it happen to them.
Not because they’re not capable. Because nobody has made it genuinely accessible, affordable or specific to their world.
Used well, AI is the great equaliser — and Cornwall’s independents deserve to be on the right side of it.
The tools exist. The knowledge exists. We point them at the people who need them most, in the place we care about most.
Practical, plain English, grounded in the reality of running an actual business in Cornwall.
No theory divorced from practice. No generic national content recycled for a Cornish audience. The real thing, for real businesses.
Free at the bottom. Fair at the top. Knowledge as a public good — not a gated commodity.
Free guides for charities, community groups and young people. Always. Because some things matter more than the margin.
Cornwall has lost too much already.
This is part of the answer.
In October 2025, Visit Cornwall — the official tourist board that promoted Cornwall’s £2.1 billion visitor economy and supported over 35,000 jobs — went into voluntary liquidation. Insurmountable financial problems, compounded by the end of UK Shared Prosperity Fund support with no replacement in sight. A body that had represented over 500 businesses across the county, gone.
Before that, Unlocking Potential — which over more than 20 years had helped 5,300 businesses, supported 2,500 jobs and gave 2,300 new businesses their best possible start in Cornwall — wound down as its EU and government funding came to an end. One of the most effective programmes Cornwall ever had for keeping graduates here, working in the county they studied in, building careers without having to leave.
These aren’t abstract losses. They are felt by real businesses, real graduates, real communities. They represent years of investment in Cornwall’s economic infrastructure — quietly dismantled as funding cycles end and nobody steps in to replace what disappears.
“Cornwall has long been one of the most economically underinvested regions in the UK. What it has never lacked is people willing to build something here anyway — with whatever tools they can get their hands on.”
Grow Cornwall AI is not a tourist board. It is not a graduate placement programme. But it sits in the same gap those organisations were filling — the space between what Cornwall’s independent businesses need and what the market has ever been willing to provide affordably.
This is a natural place for AI to step in. Not as a replacement for human connection, community knowledge or genuine expertise — but as a way of dramatically cutting the overhead cost of the things that used to require an agency, a consultant, or a dedicated team. The marketing that kept a small hospitality business visible. The content that helped a graduate-founded startup look credible. The strategy that a sole trader could never afford to commission.
AI makes those things accessible at a fraction of the cost. Grow Cornwall AI makes sure the people who need them most — Cornwall’s independents — are the ones who know how to use them. That is the equaliser. And it is why this exists.
The SHORES framework.
Six principles. No exceptions.
Every product we build, every workshop we run, every piece of free content we publish is checked against these six things. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t go out.
Safe
For all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Built in from the start.
Humble
The tool serves the person. Always. Not the other way around.
Open
Free entry points. No gatekeeping. Knowledge as a public good.
Regenerative
Builds communities. Doesn’t extract from them.
Elevating
Raises confidence and capability. Builds independence, not dependency.
Specific
To Cornwall, to the person, to their actual business and life.
If this sounds like
your kind of people —
you’re already home.
